Over 135 Years of Floristry in Listowel
Since 1889, the art of floristry has been part of Listowel's story, beginning with Sol Jennings, our town's first florist, who tended his greenhouses and sold flowers on Wallace Avenue North.
In 1957, Ed Van Geest began a new chapter of flowers in Listowel by acquiring two existing businesses - Reg Tomkins and Hammond Flowers - establishing what we now know as the Listowel Florist. For nearly three decades, Ed cultivated not just flowers, but relationships throughout our community.
Ray and Brenda Heeres took the reins in 1985, carrying forward this cherished local tradition for the next generation. Now, as we begin 2025, my wife and I, along with our talented team of designers and curators, are honored to write the newest chapter in this storied business.
