This year marks the 31st McHappy Day for McDonald’s® Canada. It is the company’s longest running and largest charitable initiative with more than 1,400 McDonald’s restaurants celebrating McHappy Day this year.
The impact of Ronald McDonald House Charities ® (RMHC) across our communities is far-reaching. Today, 1 in 4 Canadians has either stayed at Ronald McDonald House or know someone who has. The 16 Ronald McDonald House® programs provide out-of-town families with holistic support and services such as meal, mental health and wellness programming, while the 19 Ronald McDonald Family Room® programs provide a comfortable place for families to rest, recharge and fuel without having to leave the hospital.
This year, McDonald’s in Listowel in addition to raising funds for RMHC is also raising awareness and funds for the local Salvation Army Food Bank, to help give back to our community and to help those in need. The Food Bank provides many services to members of our community, ensuring confidential care for those with food insecurity. While the immediate goal of the Food Bank is to provide tangible services in the form of nutritious food, the long-term goal is to build relationships with those they serve. These relationships afford the opportunity to further foster positive influence and provide connections to other local community services.
BUSINESS DONATIONS WELCOME - These donations will be critical in our fundraising efforts and used in auctions, raffles, and other events to further drive our campaign.
We understand if you’re not able to join us on McHappy Day, however, you can still help us make a difference in the lives of Canadian families. We encourage you to visit www.RMHC.ca to learn more about Ronald McDonald House Charities and/or the local Salvation Army’s Food Bank Facebook page Facebook.
