Listowel, Ontario – The vibrant community of Listowel is gearing up for milestone celebrations to mark its 150th Anniversary! Throughout 2025 activities and events will highlight our special theme of celebrating our 150th Anniversary, with the finale happening August 1–3, 2025. Residents and visitors alike are invited to join in a weekend of exciting activities, all under the theme “Listowel Flies Back in Time.” This homecoming event will honor the town’s rich history while embracing its bright future.

As we gear up for the big celebration weekend (August 1–3), here are a few easy ways local businesses can get involved and help build excitement across the community:
🎀 Show Your Spirit with Bows & Ribbons
Listowel Greenhouse has been a great supporter of the 150th and is offering special red and white bows and ribbons to help dress up storefronts and homes. Let’s show our town pride—stop by and grab some for your business!
🏡 Add a Touch of Nostalgia
We encourage businesses to decorate their windows or displays with 150-themed items—whether it’s vintage photos, clothing, newspaper clippings, or anything that nods to the past. Even a few simple decorations can help bring the celebration to life across town.
🎓 Support the LDSS Reunion
The LDSS Reunion is part of the 150th weekend, and organizer Dianne Fitzgerald is encouraging alumni to register now at www.listowel150.ca, LDSS HOMECOMING REUNION. Please help spread the word—whether it's in-store, online, or in conversation.

Let’s come together to make this celebration unforgettable!
A dedicated team of volunteers has been working alongside local organizations, businesses, and community members to create a truly memorable celebration. The festivities will include the debut of the annual Hayloft Country Music Festival, a new summer tradition brought to life by Spottydawg Productions, launching Saturday evening at the Steve Kerr Arena Complex grounds.
The celebration will feature a wide range of activities for all ages, from social engagements like the LDSS high school reunion to a parade, children’s events in the parks, celebrity photo opportunities, and both a teen and senior’s dance. Sports enthusiasts can look forward to baseball and golf tournaments, while residents and businesses are encouraged to decorate their properties to showcase their hometown pride.
To keep everyone informed, a dedicated website, Listowel150.ca, has been launched. Visitors can find the event schedule, purchase commemorative clothing, and stay updated on announcements.
