As the local merchants are preparing for another Christmas season, it is a good time to encourage the Shop Dine & Discover Listowel program using Shop Local Dollars.
This is an excellent opportunity to purchase these dollars and use for your Christmas stocking stuffers, as bonuses, or as thank you gifts for those hard to buy for people on your Christmas list. There is no expiry date either.
The Chamber of Commerce thanks the Listowel BIA for supporting the program to help keep hard earned dollars in our local economy over Christmas.

The North Perth Chamber of Commerce took on the responsibility of having a Shop Local Dollar Program in 2008, as a way to assist in the movement of a shop local campaign.
What does that mean to local residents?
It’s a win-win! With over 70 participating merchants there are lots of local stores accepting the dollar. It makes for great gift giving to treat your friends, family, co-workers and your favourite teacher, paper-carrier or babysitters.
What does it mean to the local merchant? It shows your support to the community programs and initiatives, it allows a great opportunity for local sales throughout the year and holds the potential of bringing a new customer into your store. Knowing these Shop Local Dollars are circulating in drawers, purses, pockets and cabinets – it might be a great time to remind people you accept them!
Any merchant can accept the dollars. There is no cost associated with this program. All you need to do is contact the Chamber to let us know and we will promote your name on the list, and merchants are encouraged to hang the sign in your window to let customers know they can spend their dollars in your store. When you are ready to redeem the shop local dollars collected, you just call the Chamber of Commerce office at 519-291-1551.
