This year’s Listowel CNOY happens on Saturday, February 24, as well as a choice to walk any time during February. For the in-person walk, event check-in begins at 4 p.m. at the North Perth Municipal Office, with opening ceremonies at 5 p.m. Walkers can choose a two- or five-kilometre route, ending up at Youth Unlimited YFC North Perth. Participants raising over $150, $75 for youth under 18, receive CNOY toques. To register a team, or as an individual, visit cnoy.org. For event updates, pictures and more, join the Coldest Night of the Year – North Perth group on Facebook.
By walking, participants are supporting UWPH’s work in North Perth on housing and homelessness. Walk for those facing sudden financial challenges and help keep them housed through UWPH’s Urgent Needs Fund, providing financial support for people when they need it. Funds also support North Perth’s Social Services Outreach Worker to help find housing for those in need and connect them with services, and UWPH’s new United Housing initiative, with a long-term goal of suitable and affordable housing for everyone in Perth-Huron.
