A new regulation will require health and safety awareness training for every worker and supervisor under Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). The regulation comes into force July 1, 2014, allowing workplace parties time to prepare.

At Linguists of Listowel Toastmasters Club, members learn by speaking to groups and working with others in a supportive environment. Members learn how to plan and conduct meetings, present impromptu speeches on assigned topics, present speeches from manuals of proven communication or leadership programs - and expands capabilities through constructive evaluations.

Starting a Small Business?

 

The Stratford-Perth Centre for Business is offering a “Six Week Start to Success” program for anyone interested in starting a small business. This course teaches the basic concepts of how to operate a business successfully. All sessions will take place at the Centre for Business on 73 Albert Street, Stratford.

 

Each week covers a different topic:

  • Week 1 – Introduction to your Business, personality types, true colours
  • Week 2 – Market Research, types of market research, how to conduct market research, target market
  • Week 3 – ABC’s of Marketing, how to convey your message, how to get your product/idea known in the marketplace
  • Week 4 - Image & Operations, image of your business, branding
  • Week 5 – Costing & Pricing, the true costs of the business
  • Week 6 – Cash Flow, statements/spreadsheets and how to use as an effective tool

The cost of this program is $120 and space is limited.
